Great info! I need sturdy porch swing springs. The ones I found on your post are perfect. I have an old wicker swing I found at my parents place. I refurbished it, and now I need to hang it. My kids are a bit nuts, and I want to make sure the swing won’t break. You said the weight will depend on the size of mounting hooks. What is a safe size to get?

Depends on what kind of material that you are mounting to. I prefer the eye hook variety that is at least 1/4 inch thick. The 3/8 size will work also. I would not go any smaller. I would make sure that they are in with all of the threads in a support post in the ceiling. Testing with more than the weight that will be in the swing will be a matter of safety.
