Table Top Gas Fire Pits
For those looking for a way to get some ambience for their outdoor space, look into some of the Table Top Gas Fire Pits. The one that I am writing about in this article is the Better Homes and Gardens Tremont model. This will attach to the hole in your table that the umbrella should go through, you should not have the umbrella out when using this product as the flame will start it on fire.
This small gas fire pit will give you a great atmosphere for your outdoor entertaining and also a glow of light. The amount of heat it produces will not heat up a very cool or open area, it will warm your face if you are close enough. If you are looking to heat an outdoor area, look at some of my gas fire pits in this article here.
Now lets look at some of the details of this gas fire pit and see if it works well for your table top. I have written an article on electric table top heaters in an article here if gas fire pits scare you.
Price when article was written: $49.68 with free 2 day shipping
What do you get in the box
In the box you will get a rectangular fire pit that sits on your table top, you must have a umbrella hole in your table top for this gas fire pit to operate properly. The bottom of the fire pit will have the connection for the one pound propane tank (not included) , and a nut to secure the fire pit to the table. The propane tank screws into this connection.
The burn bowl will have a clear glass enclosure and glass rocks to cover the burner. No provisions are made for a lighter in this fire pit, when you start the flame you must have a long match or lighter. There is an included poly cover for the fire pit once it is cool to protect it from the outdoor elements.
Fire pit will weigh only 8 pounds without tank. It will be 14.5 inches long, 6.5 inches wide and 10.2 inches tall. Flame is adjustable with a 10,000 BTU maximum output from this fire pit.
This gas fire pit will be great for those looking for a little heat and light around their dining table after dark. It will not provide a large amount of heat, the flame will give you a great romantic feel if you have your favorite person over for a cool adult beverage.
Assembly and care of your fire pit
Assembly should take less than 10 minutes for those with some skills. The first step is to attach the fire pit to the table, slip the mounting pole through your umbrella hole on your table and put on the large nut. While you are under the table you can screw in the one pound propane tank.
When your fire pit is attached to the table top, you can add the glass surrounds and glass beads for the burn bowl.
Lighting this fire pit will take turning on the propane tank, then turning the adjustment knob to high. Taking your long match or long lighter hold it close to the burner to light. If it does not light, turn every thing off and wait a few minutes to let any gas disperse so that it does not blow a big flame in your face.
Taking care of your gas fire pit should be easy. Use the included poly cover to protect from the outdoor elements, just make sure when you remove the cover during warmer months that wasp have not built a home under the cover. I have had this problem with an umbrella before, they like dark dry spaces.
