Wooden Chaise Lounges for Patio Areas

Wood Outdoor Chaise Lounge Chairs

When looking for relaxing furniture for your patio or by the pool one of these Wood Outdoor Chaise Lounge Chairs should be on your list.  I will look at two Eucalyptus wood types and one made from Appalachian Oak.  None of these Outdoor Chaise Lounge Chairs will come with cushions, all will be adjustable.

The Eucalyptus wood is a fast-growing tree that will emit an oil that has been used in insecticides for many years, for more information on this type of tree see Wikipedia information here.  With proper treatment every two years or so, depending on your outdoor environment, this type of furniture will outlast its owner in most cases.

Appalachian Oak is a very hardwood that will last well in most outdoor weather conditions.  With the proper sealing, it will last a lifetime.  Follow this link to find out more about what is Appalachian White Oak.  The furniture made out of this material is made in the U.S.A. and has been used for making fine furniture for centuries.

Now let me give you the details of each of these wooden chaise lounges to let you make that decision on what will work for you.

My final thoughts on these patio loungers

When you are looking for a Wood Outdoor Chaise Lounge Chairs for your patio or by the pool, one of these three will work great.  You just have to look at all of the options and see what is most important to you.  I prefer the Eucalyptus model with the wheels for mobility and side tray.  Add a cushion and a little sunscreen and I am ready for a nap.

  1. Great loungers I think I like the Appalachian White Oak lounger the best. Because of the curved design it looks like it would be more comfortable without the cushions. Although the price might be a struggle little higher than the rest. But as the saying goes you get what you pay for.

    • Fred,
The Oak lounger has the best ergonomics for the body, it is the highest price. The oak will outlast most owners if taken care of properly.

  2. Thanks for this informative article John, I personally am partial to the Eucalyptus lounge chairs, as I love that wood and the scent of it.
Choosing between the two can be a little difficult, but possibly I’d go with the Clairmont Chaise as it has the wheels to move around.
When you say the wheels will wear quickly on concrete, do you mean the wood or the actual hinges?

    • Orion,
I speaking of the wooden wheels. Wood will wear quickly if rubbed on concrete for any length of time, like around the pool. On a grass or softer surface the wheels will last a long time.

  3. Ok, being in Florida, and one that loves the sunshine…I LOVE this chair. I could sit out in my backyard forever just soaking up the sun and relaxing. I love that I can get a cover for it too, as I am sure the sun would take a beating on it!

    • Leahrae,
The sun will fade any outdoor furniture today. Getting a cover for something that cannot be moved inside is a great way to protect it. These wooden loungers could use a refinish every few years also to keep them looking new and making them last a lifetime.

  4. John, these chaise look so comfortable. I would definitely want one with wheels to make it easier to move around the yard. The little side tables are perfect. The cushions look so comfortable and great patterns to choose from. I would love to get some of these for my yard. Thanks for sharing!

    • Tara,
The cushions are extras on these loungers. The side tables will be great for drinks and reading materials. Just need someone to refill the drinks.

  5. Any of these would be great around a pool and as long as a person doesn’t move them much the wooden wheels should be fine. Now to get a pool for these, lol

    • Kim,
Pool not needed, but will work well with these loungers. Get a portable umbrella to use and you will not have to move it as much.
