Patio Umbrella with Solar Lights

When you have a need for shade during the day and still use your patio table after dark, a Patio Umbrella with Solar Lights will help with both problems.  In this article, we will look at several examples and see what works for you.  All patio umbrellas will provide the shade that is needed, getting light after dark is what sets these umbrellas apart from others.

All of these patio umbrellas will be under $125, this may seem high for an umbrella, what you get is an umbrella that you can match to your outdoor decor and use any time you use your patio area, even after dark.  This is the biggest advantage of a market umbrella with solar lights built-in.

Better Homes and Gardens Edison string lights installed on umbrellaYou can purchase a patio umbrella and add lights if you prefer, most lights will need an extension cord to the location and then run the power cord up the pole.  Then you will have to find a way to hang the lights from the canopy of the umbrella.

I have done this with a set of outdoor decor lights and clothespins.  Not the best looking, it does work.  If you want to go this route, look for an umbrella with the clips on the ends of the ribs to attach string lights to.  For more of my information on this style of lighting for your patio area, follow this link to putting lights on your umbrella.

Now let us look at some solar lights that are included in the umbrella for great lighting solutions for your patio area. I will start with the smaller 7-foot umbrella and work up to the 10 foot so that you can get a size that works for your patio area.

What are my thoughts on these umbrellas with lights

Next time I need to replace an umbrella, I am going to spend the few extra bucks and get me a Patio Umbrella with Solar Lights.  I don't know what one I will choose, the Trademarks 10 footer with the stand included sounds like a great choice. although it does not have a switch to turn the lights off when not needed.

With most of these having the same material for the canopy, you have to choose the amount of light and color for your outdoor decor.  You will be able to read or play card games with the amount of light available.

If you have any thoughts or questions on any of these umbrellas, leave me a note using the forms below and I will get back to you shortly.
